An interesting proposal from American systems integrator, CSC, to the Australian Minister of Health for a Minister of eHealth:
While this proposal may seem little off the wall, it got me to thinking about the Canadian situation. Do we have a national leader driving the eHealth agenda? A CSC spokesperson makes a good point when she says “Unless we’ve got political leadership specifically looking at eHealth, (it will be difficult to implement.)” Looking south to the US, I see strong political leadership and lots of action. When I look at Canada, I don’t see anyone stepping forward to make the case for eHealth and I see lots of inaction. Everyone seems to be ducking to avoid winding up in the headlines. Understandable, I guess, but disappointing.
