Another hardware vendor enters the HIT market

First it was HP and then Dell. Now xerox has entered the health IT market with its $6.4B purchase of Affiliated Computer Services

According to the article: “John Lovelock, a research vice president at Gartner, an IT research company, says the ACS acquisition makes sense. The market for IT services is heating up in the U.S. healthcare industry because of the proposed federal subsidies under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. And so it is for other reasons, in other industries, in other countries.”

Imagine what could happen in Canada with a similar injection of stimulus funding!

  1. One can only imagine a combination of dollars and leadership. We always seem to have one or the other but never both.
