Freedom of speech or slander?

I was reading an article on MSNBC, title “Docs seek to stifle patients’ rants on Web Sites” and was immediately interested. I have always been a huge fan of free speech, so immediately I was biased on the side of the patient. I was a little surprised in reading the article that it was fairly balanced in content and slant. The posts by patients are being made anonymously on the ratemds.com website, and are about what you would expect from an anonymous web chatboard. What is interesting is how physicians are reacting to these kinds of services, by including a form of legal gag order/NDA for patients thinking about posting comments (good or bad) on these kinds of services.

This has me wondering how Canadian physicians/patients would react to a similar online site.
