A friend brought the following announcement to my attention:
Seems that Matt Anderson, the current CEO of the Toronto Central LHIN, is taking on a new challenge as the President and CEO of William Osler Health System. Mr. Anderson is the former CIO at University Health Network and has proven himself capable in ever increasing levels of responsibility. Given Mr. Anderson’s climb through the ranks, it struck me at first as odd to see him move from CEO of a LHIN to CEO of a hospital – seems like a step down the career ladder. The more I thought about it the more I realized that the hospital CEO job offers a different challenge and a more direct opportunity to get involved in the delivery healthcare services. Mr. Anderson is not the first LHIN CEO to take a job as a hospital CEO and I suspect that he won’t be the last LHIN CEO to do so.
