Michael Martineau and Mark Douglas spent countless hours debating eHealth related announcements and happenings while working together for a Canadian market research firm. Although we no longer work at the same firm, we continue to debate the import and impact of various eHealth developments. This blog exposes our musings to a wider audience and, hopefully, encourages others to add their $0.02.
The eHealth Musings blog began as on-line extension to conversations between the blog founders, Michael Martineau and Mark Douglas. We both enjoy active debate and welcome both critical and supporting comments. Our sole intent is to provide a forum where issues related to eHealth design, development and deployment can be debated in an honest and open manner. Our one stipulation is that people posting to the blog or commenting on blog postings identify themselves. If you have any questions or comments regarding this policy please do not hesitate to contact either one of us.
Great blog! Have you considered adding an RSS feed … this would make it easier to read new posts.
Thanks for the kind words and we will look into getting an RSS feed in place.

Thank you for your generous words about my ehealth innovation essays (posted on Longwoods.com). I am always trying to improve my writing, and to stimulate new thinking. So your encouraging words are heart-warming. Congratulations on your blog, and I look forward to reading it often (even if I don’t receive praise!). Best wishes, Neil Seeman.
I find your blog very professional, informative and mind lifting. I have tried Unani at McGill UHC, so your comment on privacy there rang a bell. I will post some more comments on how I felt when I registered. It certainly felt simplistic…
I thought you two might find tomorrow’s discussion, outlined below, of some interest.

Excellent blog!
Hi Mike,
I came across your blog while researching the current state of EMR in BC. While I am a software professional, I have a few friends that are GPs and the topic of EMRs does come up.
I get the impression that although doctors would love to go digital, the way the government attempts to dictate turns them off. Also, from a provider point of view it seems the bureaucratic problems will be more difficult to surmount than the technical problems.
Curious what you think about the likelihood of PITO being renewed or not in 2012. From a competitive point of view, it would be better if it were not, as it represents a barrier to entry for innovative solutions.
Great blog. What do you think of the new Quantified Self movement?
I’m surprised that there is no posting on eHealth Ontario’s newest scandal: cancelling CGI’s $46M contract. The funny thing is that no one is asking the right question: How many millions has eHealth Ontario wasted on this initiative since 2009? Money that will never be recovered; money down the drain! Tax payers money!!!
